Values for the 21st century

A Nordic Vision
Julie Lindahl is the founder and concept creator of nordicwellbeing.com. She came to the Nordic region 15 years ago and became fascinated by what she saw as a system of good living that she eventually called Nordic WellbeingTM. In 2005, her book On My Swedish Island: Discovering the Secrets of Scandinavian Wellbeing was published by Tarcher Penguin in the United States and Canada. nordicwellbeing.com emerged out of the demand from her readers for a continuing dialogue and more information about health and wellbeing with Nordic influences. Julie describes the e-magazine as: “A friend amid the frenzy everyday.” Learn more about Julie Lindahl's projects in relation to Nordic Wellbeing at jl-nordicwellbeing.com.
E-magazine Content
nordicwellbeing.com is updated on a continuous basis, featuring the five lifestyle areas that make up the e-magazine's content. The e-magazine includes featured articles from its various lifestyle sections as well as features from its associated blogs. These include:
The Accidental Ergonomist: Tim Finucane provides decades of expertise in bringing people power not pain with his very own technique: Power Ergonomics;
Julie's Kitchen: Learning to prepare food and eat naturally for all the family;
Sara's Green Room: Environmentalist and Geographer Sara Borgström helps readers to make real inroads into living more earth-aware lives;
Sharing Thrift: Design expert Johanna Svenonius shows how wellbeing in our times includes bringing a new perspective to things we see around us by learning to use odd things about the house in clever ways.
Overall, the site provides readers with many opportunities to immerse themselves in eating well with Nordic ingredients. Manhattan-based food maestro, former chef and friend of the late Ingrid Bergman, Paavo Turtiainen, delights readers with many recipes through his article series Paavo's Bytes. The Nordic Wellbeing Cookbook offers an ever-increasing selection of recipes using typical Nordic ingredients. An upcoming rating of ingredients in the cookbook for ethics, ecology and health will become an indispensable guide to readers in complicated issues emerging around food.
Nordicwellbeing.com appreciates music as an integral part of our wellbeing. Composer Brian Hobbs delights users with a unique musical experience in Nordic Soundscapes produced in co-operation with Stockholm-based Eidolon Productions. Brian's reviews of high quality contemporary Nordic artists highlight music with a message. Readers can enter the periodical Nordic Soundscapes competition to win free CDs by reviewed artists.
